Who We Are

Latino legislative leaders from Texas, California, New York, Illinois, Arizona, Florida, Colorado, Kansas and Michigan first created the Board of Hispanic Caucus Chairs (BHCC), an organization comprised of the elected chairs of Latino caucuses in each state legislature. What started as informal gatherings of fellow legislators to advance the Hispanic community has progressed and reached out across the entire nation. Now we’re working together, with a clear agenda, on important priorities such as economic opportunity, health care, education, and more. This groundbreaking assembly set clear, bold goals, such as raising awareness about public policy priorities for the Latino community, promoting greater participation and engagement in the national political dialogue, and strengthening Hispanic caucuses both in the states and nationwide. The BHCC’s goal is to assist in the coordination of public policy issues common to the Latino community and to the nation as a whole. In addition to the Board members, we are fortunate to include Hispanic leaders representing states from across the nation that have growing Hispanic/Latino populations.
